CELPIP fees in 2026: booking and changing your test
The Canadian CELPIP-General fee is CAD 299 plus applicable taxes, and General LS is CAD 199 plus applicable taxes. These prices were checked on 2026-10-19 using CELPIP’s 2026-10-04 page snapshots; confirm your total on celpip.ca before paying.
Canadian test fees and the amount with tax
CELPIP’s Canadian Residency page lists General at CAD 299 plus applicable taxes. Its Canadian Citizenship page lists General LS at CAD 199 plus applicable taxes. These are different test formats: General covers four components, while LS covers Listening and Speaking. Choose the required format before comparing booking totals.
| Test in Canada | Listed fee before tax | Budget entry |
|---|---|---|
| CELPIP-General | CAD 299 | Use the applicable total shown when booking |
| CELPIP-General LS | CAD 199 | Use the applicable total shown when booking |
ca. This guide does not supply a single Canada-wide tax-inclusive total. In your budget, record the amount shown for your own booking, with its currency and tax details, rather than treating the advertised base price as the final charge.
CELPIP fees in India and other countries
CELPIP’s fee information says international prices vary by country. For India or another country, use the test-date search on celpip.ca to check your location and intended sitting. A Canadian fee converted into another currency is not a confirmed local booking price. This page therefore does not give an invented rupee amount or a universal international fee.
Compare actual booking choices in a small note: country, test type, date, listed currency and final amount. If you are considering travel to another centre, put the travel estimate alongside the test price before choosing. A lower listed test charge alone does not tell you the cost of that attempt.
The fee information here was checked on 2026-10-19 using the 2026-10-04 snapshots. Recheck celpip.ca when you are ready to book. Keep an older screenshot as a record of what you saw, but use the current date search to settle the price you expect to pay.
Payment methods and booking checks
CELPIP’s FAQ lists online card payments with Visa, Mastercard and American Express. It also describes Stripe payment methods internationally and CC Avenue in India, including UPI, RuPay and net banking. Check the methods offered for your booking on celpip.ca before arranging payment; do not assume every listed method appears in every location.
CELPIP’s booking information says there is no walk-in registration. Registration closes one business day before the test or when it is full. Plan to resolve the test type, identification details and payment method before that deadline. A preferred date in your calendar is not a completed registration.
Before submitting payment, read the test name, centre and date together. After booking, keep the confirmation email where you can retrieve it. For the next step, use the test-day checklist to compare your registered ID details with the original document you intend to bring.
Cancellation: when a 50% refund applies
CELPIP’s Policies & Forms page says cancellation at least seven calendar days before the test receives a 50% refund. With fewer than seven days remaining, there is no refund under the stated cancellation rule.ca before cancelling.
Put the cancellation decision in your calendar as soon as you book. If a work commitment or travel problem becomes likely, review your options while you still have time to act. Waiting until the test morning removes the earlier cancellation option described by the policy.
Ask yourself whether you need to abandon the attempt or move it. A cancellation and a transfer have different conditions, so read the relevant rule before choosing. CELPIP also says registrations cannot be transferred to another person. Giving your place to a friend is therefore not a way to recover the cost of a sitting you cannot attend.
Moving your booking to another sitting
CELPIP’s Policies & Forms page allows a transfer to another sitting of the same test type at least seven days before the test. The policy says the first transfer is free and later transfers cost CAD 50 plus tax. Within seven days, contact customer service with documentation; a transfer is at Paragon’s discretion.
ca before requesting a change. The published same-test-type condition matters: do not plan a change from General to LS on the assumption that it is an ordinary date transfer.
When considering a new date, check your study schedule and travel arrangements together. Moving to the earliest possible sitting may leave the same preparation problem unresolved. Write down what the extra time will let you practise, then choose a date that gives those sessions a place in your week.
Retake fees and paid re-evaluation
A retake means paying the full test fee again. CELPIP’s registration options are the full General test or the LS test; there is no listed option to resit one component. The fee pages therefore do not provide a cheaper single-module booking to use when only one level falls below your target.
CELPIP’s results page also describes a paid re-evaluation. The fee depends on the components selected and is paid when applying; this guide does not state an amount. Re-evaluation reviews an existing performance, while a retake gives you another full sitting. Read the results guide before treating those two expenses as interchangeable.
For budgeting, allow for the charge you would actually pay without assuming a refund or a higher level. If Speaking or Writing is the concern, review the re-evaluation conditions first. If your practice shows unfinished answers or recurring comprehension errors, use the retake guide to plan further preparation.
Budget your attempt before choosing a date
Make two versions of your budget: one sitting and a possible second sitting. Use the confirmed tax-inclusive test price in each. Add your own travel estimate and any other attendance costs that apply to you. Leave unknown amounts marked as unknown until you have checked them; a guessed number can make the plan look more affordable than it is.
Include time as well as money. CELPIP’s policy permits registration for no more than one test session within five calendar days.ca. A budget for two attempts does not mean you can book them on consecutive days.
Before committing to the first sitting, try free practice and review sample questions. Use the attempt to identify unfamiliar formats and unfinished tasks. Schedule work on those specific problems, then decide whether your intended test date leaves enough preparation time.
